I've been MIA for a few months and decided that I need to start working on my blog again. So here's what's been going on:
January: Our lease on our rental house was up on the 31st. We had been looking around at cheaper rentals since Mid-December but hadn't really found one we really liked for a good price. We were interested in one across from my Sister-in-law's house, but the rental agency was really bad about getting back to us. I must have called 3-4 times saying "Look, I'm interested in this house, I want to see the inside!" And each time the person I was speaking to said "We'll have an agent call you back today" and every time no one ever called us back. VERY frustrating! But it's a good thing they didn't. The very beginning of January, Brian found out he was losing his job. His boss made some very unfair (and untrue) accusations about his work habits and they said they'd pay him until Feb. So we had to decide what to do...go on looking for another rental or live with family until Brian found a new job. Well the Lord was looking out for us. My parents (who have a HUGE house with no other kids living there at the moment) offered to let us live there, rent free, for 2 years so Brian could go to school full time. After some time of praying and talking this over, we decided to go with it. Moving was hard. We were living in a 2,500 square foot house, and then we moved into my parent's house, which although it is big...there are a lot of my brother's and sister's stuff still there so storage was limited. We lent some of our bigger furniture to my sister Tawnya who had JUST moved out of my parent's house to move in with a friend. We gave some of our furniture to my brother in law's newly wed nephew and his wife that were in need of furniture. We donated A LOT of stuff. My sister Rachel gave us some space in her HUGE garage to store some of our stuff. Even now, we're still going through boxes, unpacking and donating to make more room in our limited living space. I am so grateful to my family for helping us out in this time of need. But wait, I need to back up just a little bit. About 2 weeks after Brian's boss told him they were letting him go...they called him in again and said "actually, you can stay if you want." o.O I am glad to say that Brian told them "No." He did it so nicely too...If I were in that situation I wouldn't have been as nice.
Also in January Hayden turned 2. :) We had a double birthday party for him and his cousin Brendan who's birthday is a day before Hayden's. He turned 4. The day after the party I found out I was pregnant. That was a very pleasant surprise! After all, Brian and I had been trying for several months. It was kind of bad timing since we were moving the very next week, but I took it as easy as I could.
February: Unfortunately, the joy of being pregnant didn't last long. On Feb. 5th, I started spotting a tiny bit. I called the Dr. and she basically put me on bed rest, telling me to take things easy over the weekend and if the bleeding picked up I would need to come in Monday instead of Tuesday (that would have been my first appointment)I woke up Saturday to full on bleeding and officially miscarried on Sunday, Feb. 7th at 6.5 weeks pregnant. That weekend was the most heartbreaking time of my life. I was/still am so grateful for the support of my family and friends through this time. It's gotten easier for me, but I still often think of the little baby I lost. I hope that I'll be able to see her (yes, I thought the baby was a girl) again.
March: This is a busy month for me! My sister and I helped my mom celebrate her birthday on the 2nd by making a meal for her, My birthday was the 11th, and mine and Brian's 6 year wedding anniversary was the 13th! Brian's working on getting financial aid taken care of and is pretty busy chasing Hayden around. He seems to enjoy being a stay at home Dad, and I think my Mom appreciates the break from watching Hayden every day. I know Brian will be really happy, however, when he's back in school. As for me, since Brian and I aren't carpooling to work anymore, I've been taking the bus which allows me about an hour each day to work on my knitting and get some reading done! Two things I didn't have a lot of time for in the past! I am on my second knitting project and am reading "The Chronicles of Narnia" (excellent books, by the way, I've only read "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" before this.)
And Hayden: He's the best 2 year old a mom could ever ask for! The "terrible two" stereotype really bugs me because there is nothing terrible about this age (in my opinion) at all. He loves to watch "Cars" "Little People" (which my Mom, Brian and I could do without, that video is SUPER annoying) and lately he's gotten into "The Emperor's New Groove" which happens to be my favorite movie EVER! :) He loves to walk his "arf" (dog) every evening. Sometimes he wants to even hold the leash. Brian has to help out because Hero is NOT socialized and still yanks on the leash a little. She's getting better. Hayden also likes to stop every couple feet and pick grass (he says it without the "gr") He likes to feed the goats in the neighborhood, point at all the trucks and cars, and he even likes our neighbor's donkey. He gets sad when the donkey is not in his pen and he can't see it. Some of Hayden's favorite things: McDonalds, Fish (not eating it, watching them swim around in their tanks), Dogs "arfs", Going anywhere, I tell him we're going "bye-bye" and that he needs his shoes and he doesn't waste anytime coming over to me and getting his shoes on. He loves to pray, play with his cousins, a few of my sister Angela's kids were down last weekend and he ESPECIALLY loved his cousin Henry, who is 10. He even called him "Momma" LOL! He is just a wonderful little boy and every day I am reminded how blessed I am to have him in my life.
Alright, I think we are caught up! I promise I'll post some pictures and more stories soon!

Kolena, you have had quite a bit going on. I can't believe all the stress you have had to go through. I am so sorry about your miscarriage. I know how heart breaking it can be.
I hope that things calm down for you guys, and that the rest of the year is easier.
