Hayden and Halloween (Posted a little late!)

****I totally forgot I wrote this post. I just can't bring myself to delete it, even though it's several months late. So here. Enjoy. ****

This is the first year that Hayden actually knows what's going on for Halloween. He's excited about his costume. He's watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride about a thousand times. He has every cheap toy from the Halloween section at Target. He watches videos on his Aunt's phone like "Spooky Scary Skeletons" and "Funny Bones". And thanks to my very favorite PBS show Caillou, (that was dripping with sarcasm by the way) he knows what to do on Halloween.

You think he's obsessed??

Saturday he got it in his head that it was Halloween. We told him we were going to Red Robin for dinner and he said "After that it's Halloween!!" As much as I tried to explain that Halloween wasn't for another week he just did not listen. Sure enough, when we left Red Robin he exclaimed "It's Halloween!!!" We again explained that it wasn't yet, and he perked up when we told him we were going to Walmart.

Sunday we went to Brian's parent's house for Grandpa Locksa's birthday. When we got in the car Hayden said in the saddest voice ever "Oh, we forgot our costumes." We AGAIN had to explain that it wasn't Halloween yet.

Yup I'm pretty sure he's obsessed. I hope he's ok the day after Halloween. I'm thinking it's going to be like the day after Christmas for him.

***And I just wanted to add, that on Halloween, he decided he was shy and refused to say "trick or treat" but would say "thank you" when people gave him candy (he's so polite!) And he was actually ok the day after Halloween. But he's still obsessed with Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride. He really seems to like Tim Burton movies, he also likes The Nine (He calls them the "soft people") My sister think he's going to become goth...maybe for Christmas I should get him his first eyeliner pencil?? LOL! ***
