***By the way I do know how to count. I realize that I haven't posted #22 yet. I am lazy and haven't added the pictures I need yet. And I won't be adding them until tonight***
#23. Fall/Autumn
Today marks the beginning of Fall!!
Yeah, Mother Nature is laughing hysterically at that sentence. "Desert girl," she scoffs "Doesn't even know what fall is. I'll show her by sending another month or two of triple digits."
She's right. The only taste of fall I've ever gotten was when I served my mission in Rochester, New York. I loved the crisp, cool weather, the beautiful red, orange, and yellow trees. Absolutely gorgeous. I would move there in a split second if the opportunity presented itself.
Here in Arizona we drop down, maybe into the 90's if we drop down at all. It starts to cool off at night, but we don't get any beautiful colors. Unless you count brown, and green (cacti) as beautiful fall colors. The leaves don't even change here, well maybe some of them do, but most just die and fall off the trees. It's pretty sad. Then the new leaves start coming in around December, because we don't have a winter here either.
I don't mean to complain. Arizona does have its redeeming qualities. I love that we don't have to shovel snow, and we get beautiful monsoon storms. The thing I love about Arizona at this time of the year is that we can pretend that its fall, do all of the fun fallish stuff like carve pumpkins, eat pumpkin bread (and cookies, and rolls, etc), buy candycorn by the pound and still go swimming and get sunburned and all that fun summery stuff too.
It's the best of both worlds.
