I'm not sure that I have mentioned lately that we cloth diaper. Well, we cloth diaper!! This picture is Hayden (who wasn't even 2 yet!!!!!) modeling a pair of wool shorties that my Mom knitted for him.
Here are some of the reasons that wool makes such awesome diaper covers. I hang out on a cloth diapering forum on occasion and I heard nothing but rave reviews for wool. People said that once you started wool you would become obsessed. I liked the cute colorways and the benefits I read about. So I bought a knitting pattern online and my mom started trying it out.
In the meantime I had to learn to knit!!!
I'm a lefty and I hear its difficult to teach lefties to knit. Especially when its a rightie doing the teaching. I told my mom to teach me to do it right handed. I don't remember having too many difficulties learning the basic stitches. My mom told me how impressed she was at how quickly I picked everything up.
Unfortunately, it took me about 6 months to finish my first project. My Mom whipped this blue one up in a few weeks. It made a great nighttime diaper cover. He never leaked.
And he looks so dang cute in them! Maybe I outta pick up my knitting needles again...
